The discussion focused on post-transplant survival rates, particularly beyond the first few years. Questions included…What happens to patients once they move past the first few years of living with their new heart? What are the survival rates, maladies, and causes of death as time marches on? What research and developments are being done to address these causes and to extend the average life of a heart transplant patient?
